I'm Yulah, a Japanese girl currently living in Europe. I love fangirling about my fandoms(V-kei, Anime/Manga, Dorama), and also loves to rant about my real-life. 8D I love to read, draw, make icons, listen to music and gossip! XD
Probably best to personally go to the shop - that way they can get a first impression of you. Go to places you know that take on part timers. :3 And I guess Miyavi will do some solo stuff - I doubt he'll quit music all together. Or go into acting. XD;
Haha well I'm jobless as of now, but I checked newspapers for job fairs, drove by stores that would hire part-timers and checked if they were hiring, and checked the internet. In Canada, there's a government authorized site where people can look for work, so you might wanna look for something like that :D
Are you in school? Usually universities and colleges have their own "career centre" type thing where students have access to job listings that get sent to the school.
MIYAVI IS OBV GONNA JOIN S.K.I.N. AGAIN. LAWLS. XDDDDD I think he's just gonna keep doing his own thing, what he's been doing. I'm sad he's leaving PSC, but he's amazing, he'll be fine. And wtf at him going to Texas. Whyyy Texas, too far from New York. ;~;
Um. About the job. ...good luck. Dx Like someone suggested, see if your college/uni offers on campus jobs? Most usually do - that's where I work now. I tried applying everywhere, but I had no experience so I was never hired. And on campus is good because they easily work with your schedule.
Snagajob is so-so. I rarely hear back from people on there, but it's worth a try. Check your local craigslist. I sent my resume out to a gajillion places, and if they were fairly close, I also went in person and put in an application.
And now I just realized snagajob and craigslist probably aren't that big outside of the US. So yeah, go to lots of shops and put in your application and always ask to speak to a manager directly!
Personally, it is best to type out a resume and print out a bunch of them. Go to the places that you seem interested in, even if they aren't hiring and hand in your resume while trying to build a connection with the people.
If they are hiring, try to get to know the manager. I've had a few friends who managed to get interviews right away because of this and they got the jobs in the end.
